Giving thanks, again

Giving thanks, again

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I met you, that savory Thanksgiving

I thought it was the food, which saved the memory

In the pantry of my hungry mind,

But now I realize "

the tang was in your soul -

a lingering umami

which will feed my witless cravings,

for a brief, fragrant moment,

until next year.

I am thankful for so much
Everyday
What a sweet poem
A token of gratitude
I hope she hears you out

attracting only wind chimes of nostalgia

Or maybe someone Is listening but playing deaf
Just as there are more than two tastes, there are more than two flavours in this work. This appeals directly to the senses and personal memories.

When sweet becomes savoury has our taste or our memories altered.
'Umami' I thought was a posh retaliation (yo mama).
Google was my friend and the key to this.
Good one SV.
