The tree of love

The tree of love

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I am the tree of love

My flowing tears

Have carved crevices in the brown bark of my soul

Where you still grow

Like moss, softening my rugged heart.

I have asked orange clouds

To be ever-present

And never allow

Your kiss-deserving beauty to get burned.

I have asked the earth

To let your roots grow with mine

To conquer our blue season -

Absorbing passionate depths, together,

But it did not reply.

I think it is scouting for a new piece of land

Where we can flourish together.

If a bird whispers in my ear

That this could be true

Would you elope with me,

To that place where the sky is green,

And life could be you, and me?
