Why I could not

Why I could not

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I would have loved you from a distance
But I guess the shortest space
Between two hearts
Was not a straight line

I would have held you from a distance
But those kisses you blew my way
Ended up, just like wishful prayers -
Stuck to the ceiling

I would have heard you from a distance
But the smooth whispers of your heart
Got lost in translation -
Did you hear my dialect?

I would have covered our chasm's distance
But I don't think you wanted that too -
Even if you said so
So I made it easy for both of us
And turned, and walked away.

Well, stuff happens. You are probably better off without her. But the poem was really good to read, Beautifully worded, controlled, lovely picture images, emotions well expressed and a beautiful little poignant ending.
