A strong tower

A safe zone

no signal

from those

wanting to hack

my vulnerable heart

A safe tower

I can run to

And not fear dread

Because the rock

inside

and the stones

surrounding

become my fortress

of faith

Here, I can rest

safely, restoring my soul

while the author of my being

repairs the broken pages

of forgotten memories.

Beautiful and profound. I thought your use of the word "hack" was interesting because it can mean different things but both are applicable -To hack as in tear and destroy, or to hack, as in to penetrate by insidious means.

I love your line ""The author of my being."

Your words reminded me of king David's expressions in the Psalms of the Bible where he describes God as his fortress.
