Hush

Hush

A Poem by Andromeda
"

one of my first poems

"

Hush,
Like the almost-silence of angels' steps,
The peaceful rhythm of butterfly wings, splashed with paint and free; and,
At the ocean with no sound but the calling of birds and the lapping of water-
The lapping, lapping, lapping of water.
And the sun at the peak of day,
Shining brightly down so that you can feel its heat upon your skin.
And beauty, simplicity: the dancing of leaves lifted up by the breeze-
All the colors of life swirling around, around, around
So that you can
Reach out and
Grasp them
And hold them in the palm of your hand
And blow them so that they fly
Away,
Like lightening bugs on sticky-sweet summer nights.
