Loneliness

Loneliness

Loneliness is a feeling

Synonymous with the one you get when your sock is all bunched up in your shoe—

As though you’ve got a piece of paper

Crumpled up in-between your toes:

The note that my one-time and always love

Exploited to say goodbye.

Loneliness is

Discovering your hot chocolate has gone

Cold.

Hearts are made of glass and

Easy

To

Crack.

Loneliness is: running across a

Forbidden phone number in my address book,

Hearing your name and knowing I will never say it

Without some cursing twinge again,

Seeing your name pop up when you

Sign in online

And knowing

It’s

Too late

To talk to you.

Snap.

Crack.

Broken             Glass

This captured my emotions perfectly, and is similar to a style I'm trying out. I like how you went from socks to hot chocolate to glass and back again; sort of like how the mind jumps around when lonely/depressed. I loved it!
