California

A Poem by Andromeda
"

expiremental; inspired by the song "Jenny" by Cross Canadian Ragweed

"

Round-Trip-Ticket

Was the life she made it.

And she came back with

A brand new white dress

A brand new outlook stuffed in her pocket,

And gone a man she could never miss.

Round Trip Ticket,

She said.

Round-Trip-Ticket,

She told him

As she slammed the door

In her white dress that he’d made a mess

Of tears and fears of ten too-long years.

And

Round Trip Ticket

Was the life she made it,

When she came back without

The news in her pocket,

The noose around her neck,

And there

In her hand

A piece of paper,

And on it

California,

And in her left hand

Round-Trip-Ticket

The man she’d sworn

Gone, the man she could never miss,

Gone only in discarded wish.

Round trip ticket.

Round

Trip

Tick

It

Down.
