Sublimation

Sublimation

A Poem by Andromeda

The metamorphosis of the poet

Is like shadow dreams that cannot be wakened,

Like pale hands that cannot be clasped,

Like the shift from winter to summer and summer to back again;

Instant sublimation

Instant Imprisonment/emancipation.

The metamorphosis of the poet

Is nothing like that of a butterfly;

Nothing like holding hands and shoulders cry,

Nothing like burying fears that die.

The metamorphosis of the poet

Can only be described as

One single word

Written in blood:

Undignified and perchance unheard,

But felt

Overmuch

Like a tornado to tame the hair,

One single

Dreary-smiling word:

Afloat.

Well, if you don't know.....?! This is an awesome piece. It's got rhythm and flows so smoothly over the tongue and into the ears, mind, soul. Most definitely afloat. : )
