Glasglow

Glasglow

A Poem by Andromeda
"

think Cold War allusion

"

I took the East in

Your gentle West.

I took the East,

And you took the best,

While I took NoRest.

And we both said

We’d meet up in Glasglow

When it was all over

And I was no longer in the red.

And we called it the red

For two meanings:

You see, I prayed

Not to be

Dead when it was declared

All over.

I prayed not to be

Buried in Glasglow,

But wished to live

And give hands in Glasglow.

I took the East in

Your sweet West,

And I stared across the wall

To all that I had missed,

To all my life confessed,

To all that I had missed

By a few feet

On the road

Where we’d once

Walked to meet

And greet the sun

Rise in the sky

Before Glasglow

And before

Tear-whispered

Across the wall

Goodbye.

And give hands in Glasglow,

I promised,

Though if I get there,

I will never know,

For the wall has eyes,

Hears our sighs and our cries and the lies that lead us

To escape

To Glasglow.

And I dream of Glasglow,

While I’m stuck in the red.

I took the East

In your hopeful West.

Pray we

Give hands in Glasglow.
