Dreaming of My Eternal Humble Abode Beyond this World

By: Adam M. Snow

I close my eyes and vision a world in its pass,

Only I could see of its eternal mass:

Of the wind sparkling with gold,

As if a story unfold-

Of my fantasy coming true,

As I smell the morning dew.

I lay here in my ever sleep,

Awake but in dreaming heap.

I am royal; I am but a poor man,

Just living life, this lifeless span.

I speak my voice not that of hate,

In this world consumed by fate.

Love and joy rules this realm,

And I still overwhelm.

There's beauty as far as the eyes can see-

This be a place built for me.

I almost feel myself set in the medieval times as I read this because it brings up a problem I usually see in works of that time period (And the way you write it, sounds like it has come out of the mouth of someone in Pride and Prejudice) - Perhaps a rich man who feels as if there's more to life than what everyone years for- money. I don't know if that was the intent you had in mind but I definitely see that here. I love the middle stanza. It's so relateable and real- brilliantly done, Adam.

Beautiful and strong words made the poem a great pleasure to read. The story in the words allow me to vision a morning dew and a better place to be. A very good ending to this outstanding poem.

Excellent. The piece paints a picture to me. One of overwhelming beauty and appreciation for it.

I especially adored the first stanza. It flowed together so nicely, like a sun kissed waterfall. That place we all journey to, the place of eternal hills or perhaps a blissful place we simply dream. Either one seems like the central idea here and it is wonderfully portrayed.

I loved it. In addition the diction is collected as fantastic like.

God bless

If there ever were words to describe heaven, I believe you've portrayed it gorgeously well. "...wind sparkling with gold..." How marvelous, I can almost feel it twinkling on my skin. It's as if God's eyes sparkle within your heart. Such a wondrous gift to dream such a place. If I could, I would go with you.

The fortresses of the mind are the most secure in their splendor. Which you have so aptly demonstrated with this lilting piece.

This is nice. It has a good flow to it. I like the rhyme scheme. Not a lot of people can do it on the spot, so it is nice to meet people who can. Good job
