You

You

A Poem by Nurhanne Hassan

You stumble, you might fall,
you look like a gypsy,
you can't fit into your old leggings anymore,
you miss parading your hair,
you think your toenails look ugly, you have a crush on someone you can never be with,
you're secretly in love with your comfy pyjamas
You drink your glass of milk
Yet you get softer every day
You rarely learn from mistakes
You cuddle with your psychedelic fairy tales
You leave a piece of yourself in everything you touch
Until you're left with nothing at all
And in this nothing I have found something
Greater than everything combined
I have found a belief stronger than your troubles
Deeper than your debts
Higher than your limits
Louder than your heartbreak
And that's how I know
You're going to be okay.
