Dissociating In Modern-Day Relaxation

Dissociating In Modern-Day Relaxation

A Poem by Soft Interlude

I’m sitting in the bath

and I’m hearing the

time click by

I’m sitting in the water

and I’m looking at the

sponge hanging from

above

dangling over my body

it moves to the sound of

time

I’m sinking in the water

and my head gets heavier.

Pulling me down

into my body

into my body of water.

I'm floating in the water

and I hear the washing

machine

circle

and circle

below me

cleansing my clothes

as I attempt to cleanse

myself

I’m drowning in the

water

and my heart

beats like the dryer

that needs fixed

below me

I’m out of the water

and I see my body

my face sits

below the water

I stare at my

distorted

surreal

body

beneath the surface

of an artificial

river

where I go to

wash my thoughts.

I’m sitting in the bath

and my head is spinning.
