Niña del Tierra, Cara Calavera

Niña del Tierra, Cara Calavera

A Poem by Jerusalem Cricket
"

EarthChild, SkullFace, Fear & self-loathing.

"
sundrowned
flickerous light
torched &
jesus slept

comedown of
an icarus size
in proportion
to when
the orphan wept.

adept who hasn't
been to bed
in about

oh, I'd say
something

like a lifetime

rest deprived
& still I've yet to find
the piece of my mind
that makes sense
of all this mess

that I write
& I pry
& I wrench

& derive
from confines
that aren't defined
by media thrillblind
modern thought
science

& won't be til
we're overrun
by evil
killer robots
launching
heat-seeking
missiles
from the shoulders of
cycloptic
giants

it's a long shot
(to what?
a buncha bullshit!)
but I'll try it.

hell, who knows.
I might even like it.

honestly, the word sundrowned had me wanting to like this poem before I read the rest! and I wasn't disappointed...very creative, vibrant and energetic...very loose and free in expression...quite beautiful :)
