Not With You

Not With You

A Poem by Somsara
"

A poem of a broken heart.

"
In the wake of a breathing moment,
All the walls fell,
Not a single stone remained standing,
Not even the corner stones,
Nothing but the foundation remained,
And it too was broken still,
For even though the foundation was built on solid ground,
And thickly laid,
It still had its weaknesses,
So when the rains poured heavily upon its bare surface,
It cracked,
And when the earth rumbled beneath its bare surface,
It split,
And below lie the heart,
Crushed beneath the rubble and deeply cut by sharp edges,
Forever bleeding beneath the broken stone,
But no longer could this beating heart shield itself,
And no longer could this bleeding heart lie in wait,
For my love is strong and it is true,
I'm just sorry that it couldn't be with you.
