There’s Still Time

There’s Still Time

A Poem by Sourav

Days that are lost forever and drowned in the ocean of tear

Somber clouds now cover the sky- memories of yesteryear

Rhythm of the heart and melodies of the life suddenly stopped

In a lonely place, out in the silent field- I find myself to live every fear;

I stand there looking up under the canopy of heavy and sinful sky

There’s a groaning of angry clouds and sigh as the wind goes by

I try to remember the song that you taught me long way back

When joy and sorrow used to mingle easily as the laugh and cry;

But innumerable dreams faded away before reaching their prime

Now there’s no dream only the pale fire of a scornful rhyme

Yet this voyage is far from its end, lingering though it be darkness here

New melodies get born, a rainbow in the sky smiles and says " there’s still time.

Life is being tested and seeking the good places and people.
"But innumerable dreams faded away before reaching their prime
Now there’s no dream only the pale fire of a scornful rhyme
Yet this voyage is far from its end, lingering though it be darkness here
New melodies get born, a rainbow in the sky smiles and says " there’s still time."
The above lines. Solid and true. Thank you Sourav for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you! :)
I like the rhyme scheme of this- aaba.

In the fist verse, I picture the speaker as a man having reminisces...those sad years in his life which made him a man of inferiority.
Somehow, our past is the main reason of our present behavior. If it had given us beautiful experiences, then maybe we are smiling instead of living in fear today.

The second verse also tells about the same event- looking back into the past. The anger...the sighs...every positive and negative emotion. Here, a relationship is revealed in the 3rd line...the one which naturally have both joy and sorrow.

The last verse says that the relationship has ended. Where all the dreams are only there as words...But life is a continuous battle. One must continue moving on. Yes, there is still time.

This is a nice piece to ponder. The lines speak about realities of life. And the ending line is inspiring. Yes, there is still time for everyone.
Great!

I hope you're right! Another great poem.

I might rearrange the last line in the second stanza. I don't know if it was a rhythm thing for me. It stopped my flow as i was reading. I was thinking perhaps something like...
When the joy of laughter mingled easily with sorrow's cry;

Just a thought.

Diction reminds me of medieval writers, in a very great way. Elegantly stylish, a rare talent found in very few writers. Nostalgia (or rather, regret?) makes its way nicely into the poem, settling within your words as it would a stomach. Very nice, I dosay.
