In His Forever

she runs between 

  two rooms;

his head,

his heart, 

no windows, 

she just runs 

 

in his forever  ....

 

he says nothing, 

the eyes just watching, 

remembering 

  everything, 

thoughts too deep, 

feelings too deep

 

does she think to

  what he remembers? 

her beautiful brown 

  eyes don't see

 

no words, yet

  lots of words

  hidden,

all anger, sadness 

  spilt across pages 

 

in his forever  ....

 

she has no idea, 

no idea, 

fragments 

  of love fading 

 

he won't talk

the eyes just follow 

 

all locked away, 

his thoughts, feelings, 

memories, anger, sadness, as

  walls, protection, 

all he has to 

  keep her alive, 

no-one can speak 

  against the heart, 

love has no age

 

to see, to talk

walls to crumble 

a protection broken 

little pieces of her

  to leak away 

 

no words, yet

  lots of words,

still she runs,

in his mind 

  trapped 

  in his forever ....

Hello Richard, lovely to find a post from you. It’s been a while. Hope you are well my friend. This piece speaks to me of an unrequited or lost love. One who hasn’t escaped either heart or mind. A she who has no idea of the impact she has had. I found the whole piece very touching. So nicely penned.

Yes, I've been well my friend, just been focused on walking again and getting out of this chair, after my Stroke. Such a marathon, but slowly making progress!

We are all well Richard. Just returned home after a week on holiday. Very rainy but at least rested. Keep up the hard work my friend. Can’t be easy for you. Take great care of yourself.

This is a most moving poem Richard, the feeling of stifling and being in a prison of sorts almost like a fish in a fish tank never to get out but sometimes glimpse and dream outside the trapped-ness.
