A Peace of Green

The last one was red 

  to make a statement, 

to be loud in a crowd,

confined maybe, but 

  out there!

 

Green 

I've loved it forever 

my favourite

  since I don't know when, 

cool, tranquil,

peaceful, calming.

 

After the specifications 

  taken he asked me,

  "what colour I wanted? ",

it had to be green. 

 

I wanted it 

  always before me 

  to calm the 'angries' 

to quieten my soul,

to bring me 'home.' 

 

Sometimes anger overtakes;

the situation,

a mood, a thought, 

what was said, 

what was done, 

days, years of 

  corridors dark,

the frustration.

 

Green,

an avenue, a release,

a reminder, a confidence,

a strengthening, a recovery, 

a healing, just to peace

  of many kinds.

you should be a painter!!! A plein air one at that, and you ill see so much green to calm your soul....plants and ferns and leaves and weeds..... I like green, but purple is my favorite for calming the soul....a healing, a release from dark corridors...I paint in purples, oranges and yellows which is dawn and dusk...

Each one of us has a favorite color that soothes our soul....mine is a violet wash....

Now that I think of it, it is a very calming color. My mom had a wheelchair after her first leg was amputated. It was the darkest of greens, like a very deep avocado. A healing thought it conjures to me now. Lovely sentiment, Richard.

Thanks Kelly for reading, glad you liked it. The fellow showed me the available colours for that particular wheelchair. Acid Green looked very dark with the pixelation on his phone, but when some months later it was wheeled into my house, it looked fantastic! Definitely my peace, my calm!
