Poem 4: A Party That Nobody Could Refuse (Part I)

Poem 4: A Party That Nobody Could Refuse (Part I)

A Poem by Spirit Of Poetry

A Party, Nobody Could Refuse...

At the kitchen table, were five bottles of wine,

Opposite the living room,

The colour red, tasty and fine,

A dark shade of red, the colour of blood,

The people that were coming,

Were all their friends and family,

From the neighbourhood,

The wine, it was patiently,

Waiting to be poured into cups,

By the owners of the house,

Mrs. Smith and Mr. Smith,

Happily wed,

Recently wed,

Enjoyed their first experience together, in bed,

Enough said,

The people were here,

Mrs Smith said to her new husband, get the door, dear,

Everybody was going to enjoy this party,

"Hello!" He said to the people at the door,

To the family, to his friends,

His heart was going through an emotional workout,

He was worked out to the core,

His heart was pumping, he was breathing so fast,

His throat was become sore,

He loved his wife so much,

He had said it to Mrs. Smith so many times,

He could speak, no more.
