Poem 4: A Party Nobody Could Refuse (Part II)

Poem 4: A Party Nobody Could Refuse (Part II)

A Poem by Spirit Of Poetry

A Party, Nobody Could Refuse...

At the kitchen table, were five bottles of wine,

To not have a drink of this wonderful beverage,

For certain, it would be a crime,

The house the couple had moved into,

Was rather fantastic,

It wasn't made out of crappy antiques,

Made out of plastic.

This couple were wealthy and the house proved it,

The candles were lit with a cake,

That a family member had brought in,

And for wonderful evenings, somebody gave them,

A little bottle of gin,

They ate the cake,

Let their hearts bake, with food inside the body,

Letting that cake sit in the stomach,

While romantic, filter-less selfies, they take,

On their latest iPhones, which everyone secretly hated,

But apart from that, the party was memorable,

And everyone in the house communicated,

People were sitting down on the leather sofa,

Around an hour later,

Watching the television, watching the weather,

The sofas were as soft as feathers of an eider,

The smiles on everybody's faces became wider.
