![]() Poem 4: A Party Nobody Could Refuse (Part III)A Poem by Spirit Of PoetryA Party, Nobody Could Refuse (Part III)
An hour later at the party, Everybody in the house was nonchalantly talking, Not many people were walking, Some were standing still with their empty glass, In their aged hands, While they talk about the books they have read, About murder, about, ALIEN, lands, People talking about a thing on the news that was new, That made people feel blue, And then the awkward silence, And the regret, of talking about that topic, The happiness in their eyes once told, Was only microscopic, Only a drop left, which came from, Being at a party. The best thing was, Nobody was drunk, Nobody went to the toilet, Didn't spray, left the smell of strange people's funk, The odd awkward person's heart sunk When they saw the beautiful wife, Mrs. Smith, That the person was jealous of, And the person wished she was his, But the chances were unlikely, Although Mr. Smith could later be a dick, And Mrs. Smith's love for him could go, FIZZ, Gone, nothing left, just heartbroken, And left single again. That hadn't happened yet, And nobody had thought of it yet, The wife didn't, only the awkward person did, I think they needed to see the doctor, As he was thinking of things like that after a marriage, Had recently taken place, He should have seen a vet, As he was more of a horrific animal, Rather than an actual, person. © 2018 Spirit Of Poetry |
