Poem 17: Love Isn't That Powerful (I Think)

Love Isn't That Powerful, (I Think)... 

 

Well of course it is bloody powerful, 

Love can make you go crazy, 

Can stop you eating, makes you feel sick, 

You can't stop thinking about your loved one in bed, 

It makes your cheeks go red, 

Whenever somebody mentions it, 

And you are lovesick and you can't stop being sick, 

But then in the morning when you go to school, 

Your adrenaline pumps and pumps, 

You feel excited, 

You feel ready,  

You can't wait to see her again, 

You write her a romantic poem with paper and pen, 

Now that you've got a girlfriend, 

Who was once lonely is now popular, 

People pushing you on, 

Supporting you all the way through, 

You loved her from beginning to end, 

And everybody knew! 

Your love story was repeated and repeated, 

The once lonely version of you has now been defeated, 

Yet every time you see her, the love never stops, 

You wish and wish to meet up on the weekend, 

Your love through messages and calls, 

You will send and send...
