Poem 31: Surfing Through The Days Of Summer

A Poem by Spirit Of Poetry

Surfing Through the Days of Summer.

Boys playing with their friends in polo shirts,

Girls playing with their friends in short skirts,

Husbands having a glass of lemonade in the back,

The kids play until the skies turn black,

Their coats on the hallway coat rack,

While they watch the kids play,

Wives sitting aside them while pouring another

Glass just for them, she would have been

Drinking lemonade all day.

Students, football match at break,

Some sitting on the grass,

Letting themselves gently bake,

Finding out you have summer holidays,

In a few weeks,

Once again sunbathing, sun cream on the cheeks,

On the swings in the boiling park,

Enjoying yourselves, too hot for the dogs to bark,

So, the park would be loud anyway, but without the dogs overheating,

As summer is too hot for the dogs,

Taking a scroll with your family, instead of watching vlogs,

Isn't it nice, to be in the season of summer?

But when the holidays end, it's a bit of a bummer.
