Wish Upon a Broken Mirror

Wish Upon a Broken Mirror

A Poem by Linzey

Every time I look in the mirror a stranger looks back
Dread fills my body and I begin to break
I crumple to the floor
I fall
Farther and farther into an abyss where I will never return

Eyes that were once clear and confident
Now clouded and scared
A mouth which used to speak so loud
It's sewn shut with crude rusted metal leading down to my now broken heart
Curves who to others look petite and feminine
A deformed monster to myself

Let me wish upon this broken mirror
Help me see the truth or let me leave
Away to a place where I don't have look into the reflection again
A place of happiness
Where i don't remember my past
A home where I have a good future
Not one where happiness will be replaced with fear

I wish I could be happy
Mirror please don't break on me once more
