The Mockingbird

The Mockingbird

A Poem by Linzey

As I stop and listen to her playful tune

I start to realize something…

That well, can this mockingbird’s song be mocking me?

She could be laughing

Or making fun of me in anyway possible

Its joy soon seem sarcastic

And its beauty now a lie

It has never occurred to me that something which sings with so much innocence could…

Be a mockingbird in disguise
