Void

Void

A Poem by Machine

Birthed in the gossamer veil of wintry delight

A life of great promise lain that night.

Sired in the bosom of an old blue house

Father swilling libations; his pain to douse.

Kingdom of imaginary; master of dream

Mother lain heavy burden; broken heart queen.

Wide-eyed innocence torn asunder

The rapscallions of reality engaged in plunder.

Awkward young man cleft in two

Ignorance bled away in time due.

Repulsive world, full of malice

Now the son drinks from the tainted chalice.

Emptiness pervades, sullen, and blue

Rejecting this existence, so bold and cruel.

Sitting in the sill, dreams destroyed

So very cold and terribly void.

This is really moving, I love it. It flows forward with a steady rhythm. Amazing.

I love this. The rhythm to this piece is mesmerizing and pervasive...it infects me with bitterness and I love that about it. The language is delicious as well!

Wow... thats all I can really find to say. Powerful and moving. The imagery is intense and gripping. Not sad... just a stern melancholy. Very well done!

"Stern melancholy" Indeed. I loved this. It seems bitterly beautiful.
