autumn leaf

autumn leaf

A Poem by Samuel Robert Sands
"

elderly man loses his wife, he reminisces at the very park bench where they once sat together year after year.

"

Like a dead leaf once alive fallen from it’s place- the later of his years dismal as he held his wedding band with watery eyes, the park bench, a pedestal….. held nothing at all.-Samuel Robert Sands

Such a tragedy of words.. yet strangely beautiful. An empty pedestal? Perhaps bearing invisible magic shared and treasured?
