Sun Kisses

freckles are kisses from the sun

Childhood days

filled with play

and smiles

and laughs

and barefeet on grass

the sky so blue

the sun so bright

as it falls

on my freckles

to kiss me goodnight

to have patience

till morn

when we will rise again

and have days

full of play

again

and again

the laughter will never cease

until my skin is all creased

criss-crossed in those laughing lines of fun

and I still show all my kisses from the sun
