Glitter

Glitter

A Poem by Delilah Dunn

Go to bed

Dream of me

Aching head

Cannot breathe

Waiting still

Hopeless smile

Pain will heal

For a while

Open eyes

Wishing on

Drown in lies

Wait for dawn

Time is slow

Smile is dead

Laying low

Covered head

Never strong

Never were

Life lives on

Wrapped in glitter

beautifully written. i love how simple it is, but it holds a lot of power.i think its written so enchantingly, mysteriously that the reader can put their own meaning to the words. the last 2 lines are my favorite. to me it speaks of the sugar-coated, plastic, glittery society we live in but underneath we're all going darkly insane. wonderful read.
