Introspection #1

Introspection #1

A Poem by Delilah Dunn
"

Written Fall 2008

"

I want to show you my world

Who I am

The girl whose family is irrevocably gone

The woman whose faith waxes and wanes

As life throws curveballs I am unable to catch

As glitter suffocates

And ingenuine smiles fool and injure

Where I've been

From musty basements flooded

With ruined paper memories

To stale, white hospital rooms

That smell of death and loneliness

Watching the curtain open and close

On act after act of tragic comedy

Where I'm going

Is unknown and unseen

Entwined in a mysterious fog

Smoky vision of humanity veils the contenment

That I can only hope to discover

As the world continues to spin

It is either jump

Or be pushed to fall

With the rest of the angels who only were able to dream

Of how to fly

I love your writing style, Mal.
I especially like how I can read that, and I feel like I can relate.
I love this, and it's my favorite out of all the ones you're posted thus far.

..
even though, I'm a little envious of your talent. =]
