Aura of a SpiritA Poem by Delilah DunnWritten Fall 2008There is a part of you that lingers It drifts upon the autumn wind and offers up a sweet caress as I desperately breathe it in and you come back again
Your voice is worn and faded Its sound gone from my straining ear At times it seems you never left and then it's as though you were never here sometimes my memories are unclear
And yet somehow within my soul Your smile is bright embroidery Stained-glass and glowing embers Warm and safe and welcoming Still melting into me
Though my tears have yet to dry All of yours have seen their end The shadows cannot touch you now Your soul will dance upon the wind You won't be back again
