The Box

The Box

A Poem by CoffeeVampier

Sheltered and locked

Been humiliated and mocked

My hearts holds a box

Of bruises and rocks

I hear the hum of a harp

As I sit here in the dark

Trying to find the light

As I struggle with all my might

Memories blocked

Circled by a hawk

They left their mark

With the pointed dart

In the days without a fight

When everything felt right

Sitting there in the park

Looking from the start

This was my lot

Before I was caught

Emotions mixed and docked

With fates mess half cocked

Saved from the night

Hidden out of sight

Someone save my heart

Once broken and apart

Took from my box

Away from the beating of the rocks

Once shadowed and mocked

Now unlocked
