#115 Eyes

#115 Eyes

A Poem by Atlas Jones
"

I absolutely hate eye contact.

"

The feeling so all-consuming

Wouldn’t be able to look even with all the grooming

Yes, I’m sure all of the people’s eyes are lovely

But when I try to look I’m not so comfy

I really don’t want to be rude

And  when I look I feel I more so intrude

It’s like I see their souls though not quite

Like I’m getting so much information just on sight

Even with my friends and family they know

That the relationship has to have time to grow

 Even then it’s rare

Because for me looking in the eyes is a very difficult affair

I don’t hate you

Nor Johnny or Sue

It doesn’t mean I’m lying

There’s time for that when I’ll be dying

I respect you

And I’d acknowledge when you have problems too

So please when you talk to me

Or someone else even if they seem to be an average Bree

Please just realize they might have more going on in their head

Than your eyes might see or what might be said
