Devils Dance with Dandelions

Devils Dance with Dandelions

A Poem by Julia Squires

The air itself seems brighter now,
Radiant wind revolving round,
Chirps and chimes and crystal crowns,
Lightwaves blooming clear and loud.

Sugary soft and soothing sounds,
Floating aloft and inverting frowns.

Magic moments in perfect parks,
Light that lasts and blends with dark,
Gentle gems of ancient arts,
Murmurs merge and make their mark.

Bubbles burst in starlight sparks,
Springtime swirls in acid arcs.

Sickles harvest wayward wheat,
Resting red and weary feet,
Cushioned cloth and shadow sheets,
Dragon doles out treasure treats.

Wings that beat and burn with heat,
Dreams that gleam and eyes that meet.

Flowers flourish on arid isles,
Sorrow smelted down to smiles,
Garden vines alive and wild,
World unveiled to newborn child.

Petals prance in hues of violet,
Devils dance with dandelions.

Forever yours I'd love to be,
If time would be so kind;
Within your arms I feel more free,
When you whisper you are mine.
