The Sea

The Sea

A Poem by Erica
"

Imagery poem

"

The blue ocean

sways beneath the sun

The hot sun

reflects itself in the water

The storm clouds

rise in the distance

The sailor's prepare

for what is to come

The sun is now covered

with black thunderheads

The ocean is black

dark and furious

The waves crash wildly

with the strong wind

The sailor's are frantic

not knowing what's ahead
The lighning cracks

as the thunder booms

The men are afraid

not knowing what to do

Then suddenly the blackened sky

fades to a miraculous blue

The sun shines bright

reflecting such a beautiful sight

The sailor's were happy

shouting with glee

"We've made it home,

We're free from the sea."

I wrote this my senior year in Highschool as an imagery poem. It is not my best work, but I wanted to put it up and see what you all thought.

I do like the imagery. I like the feeling of being out at sea. I enjoyed very much reading this.

I love the last two lines. We've made it home, We're free from the sea. The work is very descriptive and beautiful. Good Job!
