Sun Awakens

Sun Awakens

A Poem by Steve Kittell
"

Writing about writing about the sunrise

"

Victorious star the moon’s plight

Peaking from the blanket of night

Blank sheets warmly beckon askew

Water boils, beans grind, mind’s brew

Sheets fill blank to dark with light

Air surrounds all with bright

Life returns to deadened street

Sound returns to lively feet

Sun awakens to night’s sleep

Darkness shallow, day is deep

i loved the simplicity, warm emotion in you poem! you describe the setting really well. its happy, that's what i feel when i read it, poetry is raw with emotion but sometimes you need that simple happy one to make you smile. the sunrise always makes me feel alive.
