Silicon

Silicon

A Story by Stevvy Hopson

It's the gel.

I always saw my dad use it on fish tanks when they had a huge crack in them.
He said the heat from it makes it work best to pul something as thick as the glass together.
"Why did it break?"
"The pressure from everything inside pushed too hard against this one spot.
Thus, the glass started to bend until this crack formed."
"So it couldn't take it?"
"No, but everything needs a little bit of help every now and then."

I watched him work.
Slowly I understood something.
I've watched so much and was too little to really grasp things yet.
How long would it take for the silicon to dry under constant pressure?
How strong does it have to be?

Could I be silicon?

I'm not sure if I like the brevity of this piece or if I think you should expand on this. The ending is thought-provoking and I like how you lead up to it, but a part of me wants to say 'more!' and tell you to keep writing on this. Either way, very well done.
