Something I wrote waking up very early in the morning

Dawn is breaking

Stars are fading

The night is gone so very fast

but in my heart the flame still lasts

 

I read the poems you wrote to me

What seems so very long ago

And fall asleep to those tender words

Thinking "I'll love you more than you'll ever know"

 

As dawn turns gray

the nights eternal velvet blue

I cling to my last thoughts

and dreams of me and you.

This is great. Simple, and sweet...with good use of metaphors...., with the break of dawn, so leaves the the night and it's stars....Clinging to those thoughts and those tender words... This is a very well written poem, that captures a beautiful picture with words. I really enjoyed this.
