Facade

Facade

A Poem by Stooge
"

10/6/08 About all these different pressures being put on me all at the same time

"

If I can't be me,

then what's the point?

"Do this," "Do that"

"You're not supposed to say that!"

This facade I wear,

I wear to appease

Because there's no way

I'll wear it for me

I'm forced to lie because

No one accepts

What's beneath this mask,

these sunglasses,

this shell of an opinion, personality

For everything is kept inside

To myself

Where it's safest to be

Because what's the point

If I can't be me?
