Numb

Numb

A Poem by Nely Amorim

I'm numb without feeling

my breath has left my chest

Where is this going?

Where is my fate?

I sit and ponder, thoughts can't explain

grieving for something I never knew I had

Where am I going?

Am I yet there?

Catching my breath, I pause for awhile

Beseeching the Gods for a window in time

Stop this madness, take away the pain

I've seen it before, I can't do it again

Perhaps I am seeing, something not there

Perhaps I can feel a way through the glare

I'm Numb but I'm holding to the faith that I have

that what I am grieving can still be embraced...

Great poem. It can be interpreted in many ways. A person losing someone and realizing they loved that person or something else taken for granted perhaps. As always I love you and all your poems. :)
