My Best Friend And I

My Best Friend And I

A Poem by Strawberry Child

1 Twigs in our hair, mud on our toes
2 Dirt shifting over our bodies
3 Climbing trees, swinging with these limbs from those
4 Bark in our eyes, wind in our hair
5 Bugs crawling across our skin
6 Confronting heights, clinging barely so our fingers may stroke the air
7 Breath through our noses, dust under our nails
8 Animals staring at our faces
9 Stretching arms, bringing ourselves higher so our sight meets the sunlight
10 Fight of our nature, free to our dreams
11 Zephyr enveloping all our suspicions
12 Balancing awaits, comforting starlight that despairs we may not return.

It is written just incredible. For me, poetry is something very sensual, which allows me to more subtly and sensually cognize this world. Last week I wrote a small study on Russian poetry with the help of the Edubirdie company. I wrote about the Silver Age in Russian poetry at the beginning of the 20th century. This is something incredibly sensual and powerful at the same time.
