Spiders

A short poem about a car accident.

The spiders sprawled across the windshield

then turned to stars against asphalt

I heard somewhere a distant scream

And then my brain began to bleed

while I peered on at a pair of cracked glasses

Great imagery, even if the content is graphic. One critique, the last line you don't really need the word 'on' there. I know you want to say that you "peered on...at a pair of cracked glasses" but I don't think it changes the mood of the poem or the effect of the line. Gut-wrenching scene.
