Beautiful

You looked at me, said, “Why can’t you see?”

I looked at you, replied, “Can’t see what’s not true.”

Angry, you try, but it will always be a lie.

“I always go to the crowning,” I tell, frowning.

But I’ve never been the queen. I’m not fit, not lean.”

You yell “It doesn’t matter!”, but that only makes me sadder.

“You’re good, just the way you are!” “I’ve never passed the bar.”

“Fine,” You give up, and stare at my empty cup,

I’m glad you now know, but I still feel real low.

I knew you wouldn’t hold on, but our moments now feel like a con.

You started with “You’re beautiful”, but I’ll never feel suitable.

The last line was *kisses fingers* se magnifique (that from something, right?) anyway, I really loved this, how it pertains to actual life, but you can also look at it literally and maybe a younger sister of the princess who are destined to be queen and someone tells her it should be her, but she doesn't believe him.
