Death

Death

A Poem by Amanda
"

My views on death, I guess.

"
I think about death all the time.
I wonder what comes next,
I wonder if it’s sublime.
I’m not afraid to die,
I know that much as true,
Death is familiar to me,
Sometimes I think more familiar than me and you.
There's nothing to be scared of,
It’s just one more end.
For some people out there,
Death just means the end of playing pretend.
For others it is just the next adventure,
Something new and exciting to see.
People have created delusions,
That what you’ve done decides where you’ll be.
But nothing matters, not even your name,
People are people, what they do won’t matter,
Whether a tiny speck, or riddled with fame,
Death treats everyone the same.

Author's Note

Amanda
I dunno, I've been thinking about Kayla a lot lately. Or death in general really. I suppose this can be dedicated to everyone I know that has passed away, or even people I don't know.

Peace.

I really love the ending, because it's true..it doesn't matter who you are as a person, death treats everyone the same
Great write!

This is my favorite line. This is the first thing I've read from you, and I'm already excited to read more. It's a bold poem with a great rhyme scheme and I really enjoyed it.
