![]() Cupboard ChildrenA Poem by Sujash I. Purna![]() A secret revolution![]() No more reckoners of foreboding The naïve and disillusioned They are tethered to their poles of blindness Of sacred cows and they deem their better days!
We are here for fortunes Unlike these coward, yellow-bellied folks Who pretend clearing up jungles of ignorance in search of Hegemony.
Ha-ha-ha, the man with protuberant belly He has gobbled more than he relish Yet he laughs and regurgitates The chewed up indoctrinations.
Tsk-tsk-tsk, the long-faced stepford wife She sews and bakes and gossips and obeys What her bullying man says NO MORE SPOILED CHILD! With smoking mates or booze-soaked friends
But I heard their child reads Solzenithsyn In a dark cupboard with a feeble light, Chinese democracy in houses I hear Vehement yet feeble with plaintive looks Its resounding echoes gallop, Through the constitution, through the papers of ministries. And there’s no mood for a firm revolt But it’s growing feebly. © 2011 Sujash I. PurnaReviews
