Scream that slit the visage of silence A narrow escape it fled when a gun firing It hit the hem of wings, on to a fence More silence overwhelming the sheer noise A little walk will do, a little racket of shoes An early sunrise crept upon the voice And it jeered and sneered at the weird truce A slip of target caused the innocent cry A deep wound erected upon a naïve skin Blistering and burning in a cold night To the hours that had never dared to remain In clocks and years that have passed by A ghoul hesitating to eat the corpse Fearing to hear its cry A false-hood in the name of regime sticks in hopes Of the afraid, the people who fear… © 2011 Sujash I.
