September Woes

September Woes

A Poem by Sultry
"

9-17-19

"
I have been holding it in
The things under my skin
Slowly taking toll on me
Draining my heart space and energy
The walls around my brain has become a cave
Enslaving the joy and masking the pain
All I want is freedom
And the same for my people
To rid the trauma
I see in my mama
The pain in her eyes are high tides
That flood the city for miles wide
I can feel it all
But what’s it for
I have seen it all
But what’s the cause
How much longer will it last
Will the rain bring a new forecast
My rainbows are like never knows
Buried in dirt of driest meadows
The only green I’ve seen
Is the sight of envy
In my inner enemy
That watches the younger me
The oblivion and innocence
I wish I could relive it
