My Foreign Ballerina

My Foreign Ballerina

A Poem by Delaney Hammond

Don't you say a word my love
I know you'd rather dance
Let my fingers guide the way tonight
And seduce that foreign trance

Go slip into your satin gown
And twirl beneath the moon
Your toes, your feet that sing to me
Against that foreign tune

The sun will rise, it's paradise
The way my yearning starts
Your dance, it sings paradise
Oh wrap me with your foreign heart

Love take your bow, you've got me now
You wise maiden of Athena
Come away me, come dance with me
My foreign ballerina
