Castaway

Castaway

A Poem by Sumi
"

-you know when regret eats at your head, and it seems like you can't escape it?-

"

I've strayed,

An obliterated cast away Rolling with the sea,

And it's yellow foam, Tossed in with electric rays,

And countless nerve endings.

Your face is the colour of An oyster's shell…

cast ashen and Sterling.

It's rolling over me, Vibrations,

         And your waves.

I sat on the beach, overcast With fog and slit.

There is a tremor in the earth, And I am the core.

Ultraviolet…. and cool,

I'm sending out these signals… Their radioactive decay.

And they are pulsing that blue and Gray….

As I work myself on to the surface,

    You cringe and your skin is melting;

             The wet compact.

It is so easy you kill me off…slag me off..

You shut me down,

And As I play this bleeding instrument.

Why don't you asphyxiate These drying eyes,

and this Sleeping form…with all of your unsaid

regret.
