Euphoria

A Poem by Brianna

If I've come to understand one thing about myself, it's this~
I've never chased after the crowds, and uninhibited people menace me. I don't romanticize a world where everyone gets along, or where there's resolution to every war. I've never dreamt of a world where togetherness resulted in peace. As a matter or fact, I'm very opposed to such aspirations~ simply because they are unrealistic.
I idealize a world of understanding, for such a world would be abounding with achievement. But more than that, I rhapsodize solitude for those insightful enough to appreciate it.
When I close my eyes to dream, I imagine extravagant, yet attainable things. Things such as the view from the top of a waterfall, the outlook of a mountain you've just climbed, or a sunset on a quiet pier.
Perhaps the only dream that wakes me from a pleasant slumber, that requires of me to be bound by others fantasies, is that I'll find someone who idealizes the same world. And that such a person would find love in me.
