I Do Almost

I Do Almost

A Poem by Sumo

Today was to be the best day of my life
The day I made my soulmate my wife

Time and silence eroded your heart
Wiping away those feelings you had at the start

At Least I provided you with everything you wanted
But the loss of you will leave me forever haunted

You touched my soul, which will affect me for eternity
I'll always have hope that one day you'll return to me

One last visit to get your things
My soul forever silent it no longer sings

I hope you find the love that you need
This the last poem to you, you'll read

I only hope that you'll never forget, it wasn't always bad
We had great times, so if you're ever sad

Please think of me and those times
The love, the notes and the rhymes

You will always be my true love lost
I'd do it over and over again, you were worth the cost

I now wish this day be my last
Because I'll be forever stuck in our past
